First Panic Attack

I remember being in middle school, taking an online diagnostic. I've always been a competitive person, and I've always put a lot of pressure on myself to be the best. Even though our teachers assured us that our scores didn't matter too much, I was dead set on having impressive scores. During one of the sections, I realized I was getting question after question wrong, and I felt a lump in my throat. Before I knew it, I was silently crying at my desk, forcing myself to get the diagnostic over with while I struggled to breathe. When I got home and explained the horrible experience to my parent, they suggested that I may have had a panic attack. While it took years for me to thwart panic attacks, being able to demystify the feeling made everything a little easier.
